Preamps
This is a collection of some guitar preamp units I have created. A “Preamp” is a section of almost any guitar or bass amp. It’s the section of the amp where your instrument is plugged in, and it shapes all of the tone (EQ) and is responsible for most of the “6Gain” structure (distortion/preamp break-up) of your amp. It’s what makes one amp sound different from another and gives it that “signature” sound. Most preamps are fed into a power amp section of your amp, which basically makes that sound louder and drives your speakers. These stand-alone preamp units give you that signature sound of an amp without the power section. So you can run them with most power amps, into the effects return of many amps, into a mixing board, a PA system, a recording rig, etc. Small, compact, all-tube, and a lot of fun.
